Meghan Markle officially won't be returning to 'Suits'


Sources told The Hollywood Reporter that Adams and Markle are both eyeing to exit the legal drama after Season 7 as USA Network is nearing a deal to renew the series for another season.

His and Meghan's contracts are up at the end of season seven, the current series, and he's believed to want to take some time off.

"He was always leaving the show".

In the show, Mike Ross (Adams), an associate at a prestigious Manhattan law firm, is engaged to Rachel Zane (Markle), a former paralegal and now lawyer.

Adams and Markle aren't the first regulars to leave Suits.

Markle herself, meanwhile, has been in a high-profile relationship with Prince Harry for more than a year, and recently met his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.

The network would not comment to USA TODAY on the potential departures of Markle and Adams.

Talks are taking place regarding a Season 8 renewal, but no agreement has been reached.

"Suits" creator and showrunner Aaron Korsh is also in the midst of shepherding a planted "Suits" spinoff revolving around the character played by actress Gina Torres, who left the series during its sixth season.

"I went to bed, and woke up in the morning and realized "Oh, yeah".

According to a Deadline report, Meghan Markle and Patrick J. Adams, who play Rachel and Mike respectively, are not expected to return as series regulars, after the end of the seventh season.

"Suits" is set to return for its last six Season 7 episodes in January.
