Fire Breaks Out At Annapurna Studios In Hyderabad, No One Hurt

The studio was named after the veteran actor's wife - Annapurna Akkineni.

In a shocking incident that happened towards the dusk of November 13, 2017, a fire break out has ravaged the popular Annapurna Studios of Akkineni Nagarjuna, located at the Banjara Hills in Hyderabad. The younger son, Akhil Akkineni confirmed the news when he tweeted - "Unfortunately there was a fire accident in Annapurna studios this evening". Four fire engines reached to the studio and diffused the fire but the set had already been burnt completely.

Witnesses say some kind of argument erupted in the parking lot outside Dirtty's Jazz and Blues Club around 2:30 a.m. Westerfield said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and a person of interest has been identified.

He said the blaze was brought under control within a couple of hours and said eyewitnesses reported noticing smoke emerging from a corner before flames engulfed the entire set. "It also had solar panels on it", Nagarjuna said, adding he had no clue if the set had insurance or not. Annapurna Studios was built up in 1975 by the late Telugu actor Nageswara Rao Akkineni. No casualties have been reported.

In addition to Manam, the sets of Megastar Chiranjeevi's "Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy" turned to ashes completely. The cause of the fire is still unknown but certain reports state, it was a short circuit problem.
