Bloomington police say they have a subject in custody following a stabbing that injured two people Sunday night at the Macy's store at the Mall of America.

A heavy police presence was on the scene Sunday evening at the Mall of America, where authorities confirmed at least one person was stabbed at the Macy's store.

The chief said the suspect attempted to take someone's personal property from the men's dressing room area. Another man in his party responded to the victim's cries for help and was also stabbed.

When the victim returned to the fitting room, he confronted the thief, who stabbed him, Potts said.

A woman reported on Twitter that she was at the mall when the stabbing occurred about 6:45 p.m.

That only cost the 49ers a timeout, however, as the Giants' series ended with a failed field-goal attempt from 34 yards. Rookie running back Matt Breida put the game out of reach with a 33-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Members of the victims family intervened.

Potts said two adult males were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Witnesses said they saw the suspect acting erratically before the stabbing.

Police have a suspect in custody.

It is not believed the suspect knew the victims.
