Pauline Hanson furious as Fraser Anning abandons One Nation

Mr Anning only spoke with Senator Hanson this morning on the return of Parliament, but those talks quickly failed when Senator Hanson refused a number of Mr Anning's staff into a Party room meeting. "This was news to me", Senator Anning said in a statement.

His departure caught Senator Hanson by surprise and underlined the instability of One Nation's federal team, despite what the party was saying publicly.

"Mr Anning was advised that David Goodridge, Leon Ashby, Richard Howard and Boston White were not welcome to this morning's party room meeting, because of their disloyalty to their former employer and myself", Hanson said.

Hanson claims that several months back, Roberts' former staff urged Anning to jump ship if Roberts was found ineligible to sit in Parliament.

When questioned about another post relating to oral sex reportedly preventing heart attacks in men, Senator Pauline Hanson was quick to interject in an attempt to shut the press conference down.

"It seems that without even contacting me, Pauline has unilaterally kicked me out of her party".

It leaves One Nation with three senators and the government having to conduct separate negotiations on key legislation with Senator Anning.

At the last minute, Anning's office asked Liberal Democrat David Leyonhjelm and the Australian Conservatives' Cory Bernardi to escort him for the swearing in, which his One Nation colleagues had been due to do.

"I indicated to Harry Anning at the time, that given the work Malcolm Roberts had achieved.it would be in the federal party's and Australia's best interest for Malcolm Roberts to be returned to the Senate", she said. According to Hanson, Anning walked out of their meeting.

When Senator Hanson asked senators Burston and Georgiou to mediate with Senator Anning they were told he had chose to become an independent. "This was profoundly shocking to me as I had been a friend and supporter for over 20 years", Senator Anning said. He said it was "simply false" to say he'd left One Nation.

ONE Nation is tonight desperately trying to save face after an embarrassing and very public rejection and the fastest political defection on record.

So far One Nation has been home for six senators, with two being disqualified on constitutional grounds and Senator Anning jumping elsewhere. Anning would have to be comfortable with the party, he said.

But Senator Hanson said he had dismissed the request on the grounds he and his wife were moving to the U.S. to join their two daughters and grandchildren.

At that time, Senator Anning had been asked to consider standing for the state election in the Queensland seat of Gladstone.
