Here's How Teams Stack up After PSL Player Draft For Season 3


A day after the draft was held in Lahore, the PCB held a meeting with all six franchises at the National Cricket Academy, touching upon a variety of issues for the improvement of the league going forward.

Among the emerging players picked - a system through which the young Shadab Khan rose to prominence - Saad Ali stood out after being picked by Quetta after being the top-scorer in the Quaid-e-Azam trophy so far with 755 runs.

Neglecting the players like Fawad, Imam, Owais Zia, Shan and others over out of shape players like Azam is a tough call. Karachi Kings: Colin Ingram.

Pakistan opener Ahmed Shehzad, who belonged to the Platinum Round was relegated two levels and only picked in the gold by the Sultans. This will be followed by Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans. Sahibzada Farhan, picked by Islamabad is also a promising prospect, having led Faisalabad to victory in the National T20 Cup with a 52-ball 76.

The Quetta Gladiators chose Australian master blaster Shane Watson while the champions of PSL season 2 Peshawar Zalmi picked Dwayne Bravo as their Platinum player. Two players could be selected by each team from the Silver and Emerging categories in addition to four more names from the last category. They have apparently been offered an additional sum of $10,000 to 20,000 per match if they travel to Pakistan.

The PCB also stressed on the importance of talent hunts through and beyond the PSL.
