Comcast is experiencing what appears to be a nationwide internet outage


Comcast is the largest provider of cable broadband internet in the United States, serving about 110 million customers, according to PracticalEcommerce.

Comcast subscribers in Denver, Portland, San Francisco, Houston, Minneapolis, and Boston reported the slowest speeds and most outages. The site says 66 percent of the reports are about issues with internet service.

The website is showing a spike in service complaints from Comcast customers that started around 1 pm Eastern time.

Comcast internet customers might have problems accessing their internet on Monday, Nov. 6. "We apologize & appreciate your patience while we work to fix", the company said. Any issues Level 3 faced with its network infrastructure could have trickled down to the providers who use that equipment.

Due to a connection problem with Level 3, Comcast and Xfinity had internet problems today.

Users are still reporting problems as of 2:30 p.m. EDT, though some Twitter users managed to get online long enough to make a few jokes about the situation.
