West Central District Health Department offered drive thru flu shots

Despite their availability, many people opt out of flu shots because they believe myths which claim flu shots are ineffective, or lead to the flu itself.

This year, flu is starting early and spreading a number of different strains, the CDC warns, but the flu shot only defends against one of those variants. Make it a rule of thumb to wash your hands whenever you enter your home, eat food, finish a workout or, as we all know, use the bathroom.

Public health officials stress that immunity from a flu vaccination received last year will not provide protection this year.

A 100-year-old woman died of influenza-related causes almost two weeks ago, becoming the second fatality of "flu season", the San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency reported Wednesday.

"Flu vaccine, flu vaccine, flu vaccine", Lauderdale said. As the most vulnerable to complications of the flu, children with congenital heart issues such as our 12-year-old son Jacob can end up with serious and sometimes life-threatening issues from contracting the flu virus.

"Even healthy people should be vaccinated to protect those around them".

Argentina Bike Path Attack
The Argentine victims were from the city of Rosario, and were visiting NY for a school reunion. A sixth Argentine national who was part of the group of friends was injured during the attack.

"You are more than welcome to work out". "Immune systems are less responsive as people age".

The very young and the very old tend to suffer the worst effects of the flu. Simply put, the more people who get vaccinated, the more people will be protected from flu. But Dr. Crawford says the exact opposite its true. You can also get prescription antiviral drugs that can be used to treat influenza from your physician. It is vitally important.

"Vaccination is our best defense against the flu", said Dr. Sarah Park, state epidemiologist. It offers flu shots on a walk-in basis only.

Clinicians and pharmacists who give vaccines day in and day out have the skill to make the shots nearly painless. This always includes yearly flu shots for Jacob, his three siblings, myself and my husband Craig, Jacob's father. The flu often lasts between two and seven days. Influenza doesn't kill anybody.

"Flu can be a risky disease for people of all ages, even healthy children and adults", said Annette O'Connor, administrative director for the Pawnee County Health Department.
