Firing in Sweden's Trelleborg leaves at least four wounded


A GUNMAN has opened fire at a busy market in Trelleborg, Sweden, with at least seven people reported to be seriously injured.

Police launched a major operation following the dramatic shooting in Trelleborg, Sweden, at about 10.30pm (local time). There are several people who have encountered injuries.

Trelleborg is a Swedish port town located 33 kilometres south of Malmo and 64km southeast of Copenhagen, Denmark. People on the streets began running, and police rushed the scene en masse.

"We are blocking certain areas and will conduct an investigation".

"Police are working to secure different places for ambulances to reach and treat those who are injured". But we are at the scene and investigating'.

According to initial reports people were shot at multiple locations.

There is no official word from the authorities regarding the suspect, whether there is more than one shooter or if anyone has been detained.

Witnesses reportedly said they heard a "loud bang" in the area.

The condition of the victims is unknown.
