Ivana Trump speculates her daughter Ivanka could run for presidency

"Maybe in fifteen years, she could run for President?" she writes about her daughter, Ivanka, before musing about her own possible title.

In her new book "Raising Trump", the 68-year-old glowingly recounts her marriage to Donald Trump, which lasted from 1977 to 1992, until the infamous confrontation with Marla Maples, who went on to become the Donald's second wife. After divorcing Ivana Trump, the future president married Maples in 1993.

Ivana also referenced a PEOPLE interview with Maples from past year in which she said, "If [Ivana is] holding any kind of resentment toward me, I really hope, for her sake, that she can forgive me".

Despite the couple splitting apart roughly 25 years ago, Ivana has still maintained a close relationship with her children Donald Jr., Eric, and Ivanka - who she says she is "very proud [of]".

She said: 'This young blonde woman approached me out of the blue and said "I'm Marla and I love your husband. It was ridiculous", Ivana writes, saying the real reason for her early departure was to get her elderly mother back home to NY.

That's because her daughter was one of those little girls who watched her brother during his Cub Scout meetings. Parents of boys enrolled in the scouts with daughters say they like the change, it will be easier for them.

The scandal spawned the iconic "Best Sex I've Ever Had" headline in the New York Post in 1990. But she and the President have returned to far warmer terms. She said she doesn't call into the White House switchboard, however, because First Lady Melania Trump "is there".

"Raising Trump" is set to be released next week.

"I can only shake my head at how it insane it was", Ivana Trump writes. Her new book is out October 10.

The White House has not commented about Mr Trump offering Ivana an ambassadorship.

"My instincts told me that Donald was smart and amusing - an all-America good guy", Ivana Trump writes.
