Rose McGowan accuses Ben Affleck of lying about Harvey Weinstein

"Girls. I'm so impressed with you fearless ones", Burton tweeted, posting a link to a video of an episode of TRL outtakes. She continues, "I was just like, what are you doing?"

Outspoken Rose has been leading the #ROSEARMY on Twitter waging war on Weinstein and anyone she claims covered up his alleged campaign of sexual harassment, and she claimed Affleck did see it, and that he even addressed the allegations with the actress.

"I am saddened and angry that a man who I worked with used his position of power to intimidate, sexually harass and manipulate many women over decades", Affleck said in a statement on Tuesday about Weinstein, who backed he and Matt Damon's screenplay for "Good Will Hunting". This is completely unacceptable, and I find myself asking what I can do to make sure this doesn't happen to others.

'We need to do better at protecting our sisters, friends, co-workers and daughters.

"I will peel my eyes back now, [farther] than I ever have, to look for this type of behaviour".

Burton followed up their exchange with a video clip from MTV TRL Uncensored with the caption, "Girls".

After someone on Twitter alleged that Affleck had groped "TRL" host Hilarie Burton in 2003 but "everyone forgot", Burton quickly tweeted: "I didn't forget". It's unsurprising that Burton, then an 18-year-old, would respond to Affleck in such a way. I think a lot of actors have come out and said, everybody's saying we all knew.

Now, one of the actors closely connected with Harvey, Ben Affleck, is facing allegations against him after responding to requests from the general public about Harvey's actions.

Burton was 2 at the time of the incident and added that she "had to laugh back then so I wouldn't cry".

Rose McGowan, one of the actresses accusing Weinstein, also reacted to Affleck's statement, first by simply telling him to "f-- off".
